See the City
Day or night, your exploration of San Diego can begin or end in the Gaslamp Quarter. Foodies will find plenty to indulge in throughout the city. San Diego’s location just north of the U.S.-Mexico border has given it one of the most renowned Mexican cuisine scenes in the country. Themes in the city’s dining establishments include the incorporation of fresh local seafood ingredients and influence from Baja Med, a movement that combines Mexican and Mediterranean styles.

The coastline around San Diego is known around the world for its beauty and waves perfect for surfing. Combine that natural majesty with temperatures in the 70s, and you get the perfect beach day. La Jolla Shores is the perfect spot for surfing, swimming, kayaking and diving. This mile-long area of the beach is protected from the greater ocean by La Jolla Bay.
Once you’ve seen the beach, or if on-shore attractions are more your style, you can enjoy one of the many theme parks and zoos within driving distance of San Diego. The San Diego Zoo and its safari park are nearby, as are LEGOLAND California and more attractions. Journeys to San Diego can take many paths, all satisfying and exciting.
